Random thoughts on everything as I came to know it

Sun Mar 8, 2009, 9:32 AM
  • Mood: Bemused
Pre-post caveat.
To those that may be reading this:

I will likely slip back and forth from a relaxed free form style of writing to a more analytical form of writing during the course of this. I appologize ahead of time if this is ackward, but it's how my mind works. Also, this may be revised several times over the course of it's existence because, once again, that's how my mind works. I don't believe that I am infalliable or that my thoughts wouldn't change. After all, if I did, I wouldn't struggle with my god complex, it would come naturally. I am going to attempt to interweave physics and spirituality to explain what I think. This should be entertaining to read in a few years if only to see then the way that I think now. I appologize for any repetition or perceived plagarism that may be seen when someone looks at this as it is purely unintentional. Although that would be fairly interesting to see how my ideas may parallel those of other great thinkers. I remember a conversation I was having with some friends of mine at a Boyscout camping trip when I was in late elementary school or middle school where we were discussing the possibility of different dimensions based on vibration which is the basis for string theory, superstring theory, m-theory etc. This is more of a spiritual description though, not a physical writing. And with that, I'll start rambling in a more controlled direction.

1. What is "is"

First we start with the basics of everything. Think about yourself, your fingernail to start. What is it? Ceratin? Keep on going... Ok, cells and the microorganisms that make up the cells, smaller and smaller until you hit atoms. Little tiny particles of whatever, we'll use carbon as a start, basis for the human lifeform. What is carbon? A grouping of protons, neutrons and electrons amongst other harder to explain particles that make up an atom of whatever. Basically, energy and electrons, which have the ability to influence fundamental forces like electromagnetism. This really is alot more technical than it has to be but remember we are made up of energy and the objects that control energy. Ok, we will come back to this.

2. Evolution - Coming from the beginning

First there were time, space, and energy. Where did this come from? Who knows? That's why I believe in "a higher power" so to speak. I could end there, but it's always more complicated than that. So, the forces of the universe; gravity, electromagnetism, nuclear forces both strong and weak; caused this energy to coalesce into atoms. This happened over an untold amount of time. Gravity caused these particles to float together to form substance to the universe. Dust at first, and gases, liquids, etc. These made rocks, then asteroids, then planets eventually with pockets of gas and water and all of these other nifty things. (Hold on, the patience will pay off for those people reading this as a spiritual post) Eventually, electrons rubbing in the violent atmosphere of Earth caused static buildup, and massive lightning storms happened. This caused the gases in the air to ionize and some of those gasses and liquids formed into Amino Acids, the building blocks of life. Eventually, Amino Acids developed into single celled organisms. Ok, now why would they want to go and do a thing like that? Here you have this puddle of goo. Essentially sustaining itself, doesn't really need to eat, drink, go to work, pay bills. You are the top of the food chain. You ARE the food chain at this point. Somewhere, this puddle of goo decided it had to become something more and developed into single celled organisms. Ok, why? I have no idea. I think it was a stupid move to begin with but this is where my spiritual theory comes in...

All energy and matter in the universe is interconnected. You break down the simple bonds and forces that bind it, you have nuclear meltdowns, atomic explosions, black holes/wormholes, issues with temporal causality, and all sorts of other immensely powerful phenomenon. So how does everything balance itself? Energy is the answer. Here is where it gets freaky and kind of out there, so bear with me. In order to do this, try and set aside all that you have been told before (with the exception of where I remind you). Man, the power at my fingertips with that statement.... but I digress. Ok, my views on what I have said up till now start with my theory of persistent thought.

3. I love my grandenergy, it gets me nifty things for Christmas... like life.

Ok, now the universe is composed of energy. This takes different forms: electricity, heat, light, etc. but basically energy. Matter can be broken down into energy with weight behind it in the form of atomic and subatomic particles. Thought processes are electrical impulses caused by various chemical reactions within the mind of the creature creating it. Liquid A combines with Gas B inside your noggin and, via nerves, sends an electrical impulse to your arm, causing you to smack your friend upside the back of his head for saying something stupid. A minor miracle, but the basis for the mumbo jumbo that comes later. Ok, now when you were a baby, you were slapped by a doctor to clear amniotic fluid from your lungs and voila, you started breathing. Who taught you that? Who put that thought into your head saying that you needed to start to contract muscles in your chest to live? The answer, nobody, although this concept of nobody will be revised later. It's kind of trippy once you get it.

Ok, so you know there are certain things you just know. Breathing, heart beat, etc. Thoughts and impulses your brain does naturally. Science and psychology tells us that these pre-registered electical impulses are put there by our parents, and theirs before them, and so on, and so on, etc. Also some deeper impulses such as survival instinct and the most basic of social actions as well. Quisical looks that animals will give without being trained to do so. See, basic forms of communication that happen subconsciously. Alright, now back to the beginning of time...

Energy rippled through nothingness. The same basic energies that make up our thought processes. So the universe, in some odd incomprehensible form, started with but a thought. Not a coherent thought, like "I need to pick up a loaf of bread on the way home".... damn, I knew I forgot something last night. Oh well. But more of a direction passed through everything, because at the time, it was everything. This direction shaped the forces that were there, most notably gravity, to start making rocks and planets. Now here is the trippy part, this was our great great great great etc. "grandenergy". Think of grandparents but not quite so easy to call and ask for money. This initial energy was made up of essentially what we are; electrons, basic atoms, electricity, etc. Some people call this force God. Sure, if you want to explain it away that easy, but lets continue. I'll call this the Motive Thought as this is essentially what started everything.

4. Persistent thought, collective unconscious, evolution, and why you breathe.

Ok, while not the most intelligent of ways to put that, but it amuses me. So, I'll carry on with it. Grandenergy begat earth, which begat gas, and amino acids, and single cell organisms. Here is where the motive thought comes in. Thoughts, being electricity, thus being energy, never truly disipate, only change form. This is the law of conservation of energy. The only things that make our thoughts unique among energies is our ability to interpret them as thoughts. The same electrical impulse could exist in the coils of a superconductor and the only difference being that we can't read it. So, essentially, every thought that could possibly happen, has already happened, it just hasn't happened to us. This is essentially the theory of persistant thought - that a thought, being energy, exists beyond us indefinately just taking on a different shape. So that first single celled organism that we talked about earlier. The uppity one that ruined it for the rest of us. It was bound to happen. Part of the motive thought that persisted through time and gave direction to the forming Earth existed in that cell. It exists in every rock , tree, molecule of air, it is energy. It is what caused gas to eventually become mankind. That cell could have stopped there. It didn't have a Darwinian drive to evolve to survive. It was the only thing out there and since there were no other living creatures to feed on, it had to have subsided on inorganics and amino acids that it lived in. It had no need to go farther, yet it did. Why? That persistant thought that causes evolution. There are even evolutionary phenomenon that Darwin couldn't explain with survival of the fittest. What happened to make a bird fly? The theory of evolution supports persistant thought. That reptile billions of years ago decided it had a need or desire to fly. It didn't sprout wings and take to the air and neither did it's children. What if his 13th generation decided that they wanted to swim instead, can they, by themselves change the direction that the species is taking towards flight? No. It is a driving force to achieve that goal, but to what end? Better predator or prey most likely but there are other ways to do this. So billions of years of evolution were directed towards a single goal and whether each individual creature wanted that or not, it was what happened. It was a persistant thought that molded it's body. Something beyond subconscious that lives in there with survival instinct and breathing. A supersubconscious knowledge of what must be done and the things that must be taken to do it.

Persistent thought also helps to explain several supernatural phenomenon such as psychometry, or object reading, where people can get impressions of certain strong emotional acts from touching objects that were "bearing witness" to it so to speak. The energy of a thought or emotion persisting past the moment of creation by transferring to another medium. It follows proven scientific basis for conservation of energy, just in a much harder to grasp direction. But I digress. This is an area I am not completely sure is true.

So, this persistent, motive thought.....

wait a second...you actually read through all of that? You have some time on your hands. GET OUT AND ENJOY LIFE!!!! Damn people, you have better things to do than just listen to me ramble for an hour. Kids these days...
